well of course i couldn't let my girl be seen in public wearing store-bought clothes the day after i was quoted in the paper... so i spent saturday afternoon doing this. the skirt is a corduroy i found at joanns and the shirt is an alexander henry print(also from joanns) that i just thought was cute with the corduroy. and i used patterns this time! the skirt is a favorite things pattern, and the shirt is a pink fig pattern. i found both at our local craft store, but you can find them all over etsy as well. the skirt pattern is quickly becoming a favorite. it has a few different styles, all of which have turned out super cute every time i've tried them. i have loved using favorite things patterns so far. they use very simple methods, and the pattern is completely easy to understand. this style of shirt was probably easier than the skirt. if you can sew a straight line you can sew this kind of shirt. the pattern is adorable, but seems cheaply made(sorry, just my opinion). there were a few misprints in the pattern and i felt like some of the instructions were vague. also, i made a size 7/8 after comparing the pattern to one of mine... and it looks like it fits my 3 yr-old just fine. so would this same shirt fit a 7-8 yr-old? i don't know... but i do know that i really like buying/using boutique patterns over the big company ones. i love that it is supporting a small company, usually a stay-at-home mom. i also like that they will include color pictures and a little more cuteness for your money.

Oh my GOSH! When we finally have our kids, will you make ALL their clothes, Sara? Seriously! You are amazing!
So I love love love those dresses I got for Bri. I was wondering if you have any more of those fabrics to maybe make some scarfs or something for her head cause she's still pretty hairless on top.
