THIS is what i am making for dinner tomorrow. richie's jaw dropped to the floor when i showed him and said i wanted to make it. it's his most favorite dinner but i'm really not a pot roast person. i think i have only attempted such a dish once on a special richie occasion or something, but these pictures were too appetizing to pass up. we shall see if it works as well for me.
p.s. this site is so fun to browse if you are looking for something to make for dinner or just want to work up an appetite...

funny, that's what i made for dinner last night, too! i really miss the free meat that used to roam in my backyard! i had to buy a roast for the first time! left-overs tonight: french dip sandwiches...mmmmmm!
ooohhh! french dip sandwiches! what a great idea!
My husband grew up on Sunday pot roast. My own family never had it so I had no idea about the concept or how to make one.
None of my pot roasts ever turned out right and so I rarely made one. But after 20 years, I finally found a recipe that the entire family goes nuts about.
Basically it's meat plus cream of mushroom soup plus a package of onion soup mix. Cook it covered for a couple of hours, add veggies and cook it for another hour.
Can you believe that! They BEG me to make it.
My new bf, who is an attorney and is a super educated lover of culture and arts, is also a big time hunter/fisher. I worry that a freezer full of deer steaks and other packaged woodland creatures may be in my future...
